​Through Innovative Teaching

​​I am the co-director of one of the largest and most respected hospice & palliative medicine physician fellowship programs in the country. In this role, I oversee eight fellows with diverse backgrounds rotating across multiple sites including UC San Diego Health, Scripps Health, The Elizabeth Hospice, Rady Children's Hospital, and Sharp Hospice.

As a Clinical Professor at UC San Diego, my teaching efforts span across the Departments of Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine and to the Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences. I'm also a member of the Scripps Research Translational Institute Clinical and Translational Science Award K12 Program External Advisory Committee.

I’ve been an invited speaker and panelist on multiple occasions at Scripps Health Grand Rounds, the All of Us program, the National Academies, the UCSF Global Lecture Series, Scripps Research Front Door series, the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics Annual Meeting, the Student National Medical Association Annual Meeting, the Annual Meeting of the Organization of Teratology Information Specialists, and the Annual Meeting of the California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative.
