I Ensure the Voices of My Colleagues & Patients Are Given Priority
The drive to be a physician that took hold when I was 7 and has led me to remained engaged in organized medicine on a local, state and national level ever since. I am the former President and a member of the Executive Committee of the San Diego County Medical Society and the CATCH grant facilitator for the American Academy of Pediatrics CA-3 Chapter, helping to connect community pediatricians to grants for research and quality improvement.
On the state level, I work for my patients and colleagues and served as the Chair of the Council of Medical Services for California Medical Association for seven years where I collaborated with many specialties and practice modalities as we expand and modernize CMA policies on topics like: Corporatization of Healthcare, Future of Medical Practice Post-COVID, Digital Health, Reducing Administrative Barriers, Addressing Increasing Pharmaceutical Costs, Enhancing Competitiveness of the Healthcare Market, and Addressing Utilization through Improved Care Delivery.
At the American Medical Association, I have served in leadership positions throughout the Young Physicians Section and am a past Chair of that Section. As a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics delegation, I helped represent the voice of America's Pediatricians and their patients at the highest level. I have leadership roles throughout national organized medicine including at the American Academy of Hospice & Palliative Medicine, the Center to Advance Palliative Care, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
